Pet Store Tycoon: Store Expansion and Furniture Moves
Buy the next area through Build > Expansion, move shelves and fish tanks, and arrange the extra space before purchasing more furniture.
Expand your store in Pet Store Tycoon through Build > Expansion. Buying the available expansion opens the next store area. After the purchase, move shelves and fish tanks into a layout that makes the additional space useful instead of leaving everything crowded in the original room.
The walkthrough below includes buying an early expansion and rearranging the fish shop afterward.
Buy the next area through Build
Open the building interface and choose Expansion. Select the store area available to your shop, read its displayed purchase information, and confirm when you have enough money for it. The purchase opens another area of the store; it is a space upgrade rather than a box of merchandise or a pack of new pets.
Before committing, decide what you want that area to hold. A shelf section and an enclosure section have different uses. A clear purpose helps you place existing furniture first, then choose whether another item is actually needed.
For a budget check before purchasing, use expansion requirements. The selected panel is the place to read the price for the area you are buying.
Move existing shelves and fish tanks
Q is the observed keyboard control for moving furniture. Use the move interaction on the shelf or fish tank you want to reposition, then place it in the new area through the building interface. Keep the tank and merchandise shelf decisions separate: moving an enclosure does not automatically arrange the products sold beside it.
On another input device, follow the move prompt shown by the game rather than looking for a keyboard letter. The useful action is repositioning the item; Q identifies the keyboard version of that action.
| Item | How to use the extra space | What to keep accessible |
|---|---|---|
| Merchandise shelf | Move a crowded product section into the new area | Its front and stocking position |
| Fish tank | Create a separate enclosure section | The tank's interaction point |
| Existing furniture | Rearrange before buying duplicates | Your route through the shop |
Arrange one section at a time
As a layout recommendation, move one section before rebuilding the whole shop. Start with the shelves or tanks that feel most cramped. Finish placing that section, then walk through the remaining shop to see whether the next move is still necessary.
Keep a straightforward route between the original area and the new one. Extra floor space is useful when you can reach what you put there. An attractive arrangement that makes every trip longer can be less convenient than a modest move that opens a crowded corner.
The store-layout guide covers customer browsing complaints and the practical difference between enclosure and merchandise space.
Spend on furniture after deciding its location
An expansion gives you room to work with, but buying furniture for every empty patch is not the only next step. Reposition the items you already own before shopping for additions. That shows which space is truly spare and which is needed to move through the store.
When you do add another shelf or tank, choose its location in relation to the section it belongs to. Keep the expansion organized around the work you do there. Leave decoration decisions until the essential furniture has a place, then use shop decorations to finish the area.
