Pet Store Tycoon Cash Register: Payments and Change
Use the Pet Store Tycoon cash register for cash and card purchases. Choose the correct transaction amount, fix change entries and work through the queue.
At the Pet Store Tycoon cash register, handle the payment type shown for the customer. Cash needs the requested change returned; card payment uses the transaction amount. Enter the amount for this purchase, correct any excessive entry and complete checkout before moving to the next shopper.
The walkthrough shows both kinds of payment during ordinary shop days. Watch the register interaction rather than copying any amount from the video: each customer's purchase has its own total.
Separate the total from the change
The sale total and the change you owe are different amounts. A cash customer can pay more than the purchase costs, leaving an amount to return. Use the register's requested change for that transaction instead of entering the entire sale total as though it were a card payment.
Take a moment to read the payment before entering anything. This is especially helpful after several customers in a row: the previous amount is no longer the answer, even if the next customer bought a similar product. The next checkout begins a new transaction.
If your entry is too high, correct it while you are still handling that customer. Rushing on to the next task does not resolve the mismatch. Work toward a completed checkout rather than repeatedly entering numbers and leaving the transaction unfinished.
Use the card amount for a card purchase
Card payment does not use the cash-change calculation. Follow the card transaction amount at the register. Switching between cash and card is the main distinction to keep clear when a line of shoppers contains both payment types.
| Payment | Amount to handle | Common mix-up |
|---|---|---|
| Cash | The displayed change due | Returning the full purchase total |
| Card | The card transaction amount | Treating it as cash change |
| Incorrect entry | Correct the amount for this customer | Continuing with the previous shopper's number |
The table is about choosing the correct number, not memorizing a universal price. Pet purchases and merchandise baskets vary, so keep your attention on the register's current transaction. A larger basket does not change the basic cash-versus-card distinction.
Clear the line without abandoning a purchase
Stay with the customer you are checking out until the transaction finishes. Then handle the next waiting shopper. This reduces the chance of losing track of which amount you were entering when another part of the shop needs attention.
If shelves are also empty, the queue and stock are separate problems. Completing a checkout handles the shopper already waiting to pay; replenishing restores products for later purchases. Avoid starting a long trip across the store in the middle of a number entry when you can finish that short transaction first.
The same idea applies after a distraction. Return to the customer's displayed payment and read it again. Do not assume that the figure you remember was the sale total, change or card amount. The current screen gives the context for your next input.
When checkout is no longer the main problem
Once waiting transactions are finished, move to the shop job that needs attention next. Use customer service for the wider selling workflow, or restocking when goods are disappearing from the displays.
For a first-day explanation, the beginner guide puts checkout alongside fish preparation and the first shelf purchase. This register guide focuses on the payment itself so you can return to it during a busy day.
